Senior party members like the Vice president Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhary also attended the event. Imran Khan condemned the use of religion by Malik Riaz and denied all allegations of taking financial benefits from him. Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf also shed light on some core issues. Pakistan is plagued with people who use religion to gain political clout. One such person is Maulana Fazlur Rehman who has used religion to such an extent that the youth of Pakistan get chills in their spine on the thought of an Islamic regime in Pakistan.
Mr. Khan also condemned the suicidal attacks and claimed them to be unislamic. He supported his premise by quoting the tamil tigers who were non-muslims yet resorted to suicide bombings as a source of terrorism. Thus he said these suicidal attacks are an after effect of an unjust and unfair society not due to Islamic principles.
We Pakistanis cannot emulate a true Islamic state until we get rid of the current corrupt, unjust and fraudulent leaders. People view me as having bi polar views on religion however I claim to bring justice to society and that is what Islam promises to give to its society. Shah Mehmood Qureishi also supported Mr. Khan by saying that Malik Riaz is the biggest mafia of the country and has paid many politicians but we are not one of them. The ulema plaid a crucial role in forming Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. Now we appeal the Ulema to support us in saving Pakistan from these corrupt leaders.
