PTI vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on electricity price hike

Lahore: Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf has warned the government not to force the party to initiate a massive street movement and civil disobedience. In a special statement on the most recent electricity price he demanded that the government should immediately retract its decision on the recent increase in electricity tariff.
He said that government’s failure to resolve most pressing issues including circular debt, increasing generation capacity and improving collections has led to the present energy crisis. He said that the present government has broken all prior records of corruption and the Rental Power scam is clear evidence of the same.
Unprecedented price hikes under the present regime will force citizens to resort to power theft, he added. He urged the people of Pakistan to wait for Imran Khan’s call for ‘tsunami march’ which will liberate them from the unbearable rule of the most corrupt and incompetent rulers.
